We decide to make today's ride a record that even Abel will envy.  We jump start Doc with a genu-wine Duncan Donuts and AJ with two burritos and a Dr Phibbs.

Then to the Hill Billy Hot Dogs place where we can dine on a 5 lb hot dog and relax and enjoy the ambience.

Dining in the School Bus Dining Facility #1 we enjoy our meal.

Then step outside for a little constitutional walk past a vehicle that is a bit past the expiration time on the parking meter.

Joe insists that we visit the facility before riding

Doc starts out this epoch ride after being coached by Joe on techniques such as towing and drafting.

Doc is ready.

He is off followed by Joe in the truck who is setting a blistering pace.

Over hill and dale and through the woods...

Doc pedals his heart out and completes his segment of the ride

in near absolute exhaustion.

It is now up to Miss Twinkle Toes to complete the course.   She limbers up... bulks up... and takes to the highway, singing I am Woman Hear Me Roar.

But then her chain falls off the bike.  Joe shouts encouragement from the truck. After another stop to fix her speedometer, we continue...

and make only one more stop to dry off her liner.  Off we go one more time...

Past sparkling brooks...

Serene and majestic farmland from another era...

Past a little bit of West Virginia suburban renewal

Then... seven miles later with victory in sight, AJ hits three potholes in succession and coasts to a stop with a flat tire falling just short of Abel's record.

We continue the trip along the Ohio River trying to recover after pedaling so many miles... and sing ballads and songs about Abel...

arriving at the outskirts of Parkersburg and completing our ride.
