Travel to Chickasa, Ok
|
![]()
We begin our ride to Chickasa, Oklahoma with a song in our heart. Abel bemoans the fact that there is so little to write about Cliff in the journal because his life is filled with the love and gratitude of many, so it never rains upon the head of the Clifford Clark entourage. Cliff, with great piety and humbleness, acknowledges his special gifts of perfection because of the perfect life he has led helping others. Without any further prompting, Cliff regales the group with stories of a past life of sin and corruption while ministering to a group of sinners. His role as Mama Huey to a flock of recalcitrant reprobates, caused Cliff to travel a path of perfect grace and good works, knowing the past would never come back to haunt him. No sooner were the words out of his mouth, an event of evangelical importance occurred. If the reader looks very carefully at a small little pink Kharman Ghia vehicle topping the rise behind the truck, we can see it is being driven by a runty little man with squinty eyes drawing a bead on the back of Cliff. Roaring past, while screaming, "on to the skunkworks", all that can be seen on the rear of the vehicle is a license plate bearing the letters... "SkunkerSmith4Evr." This narration can be best described by Calvin Hoopledinker, a local rancher who was driving his truck in the opposite direction and was a witness to this event.
"W'all, I was a drivin my truck north on the road to my local feed store when I saw this feller riding a light blue bicycle being follered by what appeared to be a migrant worker on a bicycle behind. Anyway, this feller was a ridin when this funny looking pink car came out of nowhere and flew past so fast that it plumb blew the leg right offen the big man in the blue shirt. Well then, it was like time stood still. I seed the leg come a flying past me and the bike and rider flew off the other way and disappeared into a ditch. I stopped to see if I could help but evidently his man servant, the one on the other bicycle, was laughing so hard that I knew nothing could be wrong. Sure was a funny thing though to see all these one legged fellers having such a good time over the misfortunes of their one bretheren."
Here Cliff sits upon the ground waiting for his teammates to come to his rescue.
If it weren't for the pain, Cliff would be joining in the laughter of his teammates.
Showing great concern and having drunk the milk of human kindness, Abel is shown here adjusting his new computer speedometer before rushing to the aid of Cliff. Annie is shown here finishing her cup of coffee before rushing to the aid of cliff. And Joe, team player to the end, is trying to get his GPS to work, before rushing to the aid of Cliff. With great tenderness, the AAA team finally are able to contain their mirth and show the proper sympathy for their fallen comrade, knowing that Cliff has made the ultimate sacrifice in providing us with the fodder to continue writing our journal. So on to Chickasa, feeling very smug about the fall from grace (grace is the name of Cliff's bike). We finally arrive in Chichasa and witness the last straw of Cliff Clark's demise. Upon arrival, Cliff closes the car door, locks it, and leaves his only set of keys sitting inside. But that is another story. We will have a down day tomorrow and hope that the team spirit of AAA is rekindled, despite the laughter.
